Last night the medal winners and champions were announced for the 2016 World Beer Cup. Three Indiana breweries took home medals.

The World Beer Cup featured 96 different categories of beer styles. Bier Brewery won a gold medal in two categories. Three Floyds Brewing won gold in one, and Crooked Ewe Brewery won bronze in one.

Bier Brewery’s Sanitarium won the gold medal for Belgian-Style Dubbel or Quadrupel. Sanitarium (4.15 Untappd rating) beat out Hertog Jan Dubbel (Hertog Jan Brouweij, Silver) and Three Philosophers (Brewery Ommegang, Bronze).

However, Bier was not done. ESB (3.7 Untappd rating) won gold in the Extra Special Bitter category. End of Summer Beer (Mother Earth Brew) and Old Jalopy Pale Ale (Powell Street Craft Brewery) won silver and bronze, respectively.

In the American-Style Imperial Stout category, Three Floyds won gold with Blot Out the Sun (4.05 Untappd rating). HoliDAVE (Artifex Brewing) took silver, and Happy Ending (SweetWater Brewing) won bronze.

Last, but not least,  Crooked Ewe won Bronze with their Scotch Ale, Glasgow Butcher (4.08 Untappd rating).

The last time Indiana breweries brought home three gold medals was the 2012 World Beer Cup.
